THE STORY BEHIND THE SONG
This song was inspired by the description in Revelation of the glories that await in heaven: no sorrow or crying or pain there. A close friend had just passed, and though there was a temptation for sadness, the song was born in realising the joy in the promise of eternity. There'll be an end to all pain and strife, a lifting of every burden, and beauty and peace beyond measure. Paradise Restored is about that wonderful hope of the most amazing onward life that we could possibly imagine, and when life gets tough, we sometimes need to be reminded of the blessing that's ahead of us. Equally, in the struggle of difficult life journeys when we lose children - born or unborn - there is a profound healing in knowing that God has them safe and in a paradise that we have never yet known or conceived of. It has been a huge blessing to many to carry this wonderful picture of what God has prepared for the innocent and for those who love Him. He wants us to carry these promises in our hearts and for them to be a comfort as we realise how full redemption and restoration awaits.
Hidden discreetly in the song, nestling in the music bed, and gently adding depth to the main vocal, are the most beautiful rich harmonies. Listen out for them. Don't miss them. They will enhance your experience as you let your imagination fly beyond the realms of this mortal earth.....
